Five trades, four accreditations, and no way to tell which covered what.

THK Engineering · M&E contractor

The business.

THK is a Singapore M&E contractor working across electrical, ACMV, fire protection, plumbing and sanitary, and ELV. Five disciplines, each with its own accreditation and its own buyer.

Work arrives by tender and by referral. In both cases somebody checks the website before the shortlist is drawn, and in both cases what they are checking is whether the scope on the drawing is scope this contractor is cleared to do.

What we found.

The brief was a new website. The diagnosis was narrower than that and more specific.

Certifications sat in a row of small logos in the footer, the way they do on most contractor sites in Singapore. A buyer checking whether THK could take the fire protection package had no way to connect the accreditation to the scope it authorised. So the check moved off the website and onto the phone, which is a step most buyers will not take when there are two other names on the list.

The site was not badly built. It was organised around what the company is rather than what the buyer arrived to verify.

The decision.

What we left out matters as much as what we built.

Each accreditation shown against the work it qualifies for

Not a certificates page. The credential sits next to the scope, where the person checking is already looking.

A capability record a buyer can forward

One document that can go to a colleague without an email to THK first.

Completed projects described by scope, not by client name

What was built, to what spec, in which discipline.

What we deliberately did not build

No news section, no team gallery, no case study carousel. Nothing that needs maintaining to avoid looking abandoned.

What it was.

A rebuilt website on WordPress, structured around scope rather than services, with the capability record as a downloadable document and the accreditation mapping built into the templates so it stays correct as work is added.

Hosting and maintenance continue monthly.

Same problem, different business?

If a buyer cannot verify what you are cleared to do, that is the same problem wearing different clothes.
